You are a better mom than I. I would totally friggin’ cave and let her dance. I would basically teach her that she can be as bad as she wants to be and still have fun. I would be a TERRIBLE mom in this instance…but you, are a rockstar. More power to you – when my Pineapple hits 15, I guarantee you I will think of this post – and hopefully gains some strength.

I am now scared of when mine become teenagers.

Oh this is the hardest part. Watching your child fail, and watching them pay the consequences. It’s excruciating. But you are a great mom. It takes a great mom to follow that through and watch it happen.

I, on the other hand am the mother of 3 teenage daughters…

one of whom got a warning from the alternative school she goes to as a result of being asked to leave the School of fine arts she was attending, on account of never doing any work and having an arrogant attitude about it

One of whom has been informed that she must attend a one day seminar at a drug rehabilitation program because the principle saw a picture of her on FACEBOOK? sitting with some friends who were smoking.

And the third of which is still sleeping at 2:52 because she was “up ALL night looking for a job on the internet MOM!”

So yeah…. you’re doin’ OK.
