  • Peaceful Peanut Butter Playdough

overworked-momIt’s Friday!  That means all week long you have had to listen to whining (fighting if you have more than one kid), run around to a bunch of places you don’t feel like going to, and do a bunch of crap for other people and nothing for yourself.  So this Free Friday Fun is all about you Renegade Moms.   Here is what you will need:

1 jar of junky crap peanut butter creamy style

1 to 1 1/2 cups of powdered milk

    3 TBSP of Honey

**Optional is raisins, cereal O’s of any kind, sliced banana

Little plastic dinosaurs, fairies, animals, action figures or whatever little toy your kid might be into

    A few plastic butter knives

1 Nice magazine or good book and the beverage of your choice ***not optional***

So empty the entire jar of crap peanut butter into a bowl.  The reason I say use crap peanut butter is that they really don’t end up eating much of it and the crappier the peanut butter is the better and more pliable it is for making stuff.  Add the honey.  Then add 1 cup of powdered milk and start mixing it by hand or with a spatula.  Use the 1/2 cup leftover to add a little at a time to the mixture until its nice and dough-like.  You don’t want it to be sticky and gooey, it should be the same consistency as regular playdough.  Put it in the fridge for about 20 minutes wrapped in plastic wrap or in a ziploc bag.

When it’s done have everyone wash their hands and then put the blob of dough on the table with some raisins, O’s etc.. and also put a bin of little toys and figures and some plastic butter knives and let them at it!   ****This is only for kids 3 and up.  Under 3 hand them over to Dad or Grandma and go get your feet done!****

images-11Now for the finale! You make the wonderful beverage of your choice and find your happy place in the garden or on the couch and with your good book or nice magazine and put your feet up and enjoy the peace and joy of peanut butter playdough.

    Have a great weekend!
